Cinemas around Hasland

Cineworld Cinema

Alma Leisure Park, Derby Rd, Chesterfield S40 2ED, UK – 0330 333 4444

Staff are pretty welcoming. Seating is very hit and miss, depending on when you book. Food is the same as most cinema venues.

Good cinema, lots of screens. Mostly friendly staff. Never had a bad experience here.

Pomegranate Theatre & Cinema

Corporation St, Chesterfield S41 7TX, UK – 01246 345222

The Pomegranate is a lovely old theatre. They have a very varied programme. With up to date films as well as plays satellite broadcasts. There is something for everyone. There is a very nice cafe/ bar to relax and have a drink before the performance. The staff are all very helpful and friendly. Chesterfield is very fortunate to have such a theatre and also the Winding Wheel.

Wednesday matinee in a lovely old theatre . Easily accessible from the railway station and bus stops. Plenty of places to have something to eat and drink in the locality. Nice little bar for pre-theatre and intermission drinks.

Theatres for Hasland

Winding Wheel Theatre

13 Holywell St, Chesterfield S41 7SA, UK – 01246 345222

Went to watch a Motown show. Lots of fun. We were allowed to dance in the aisles. Great night. Would have been five stars if they had put more bar staff on the bars as we had to wait a very long time for drinks.

We went to the Winding Wheel recently to see a tribute act. We are regular visitors to this venue as it's one of the few local venues where we can listen to live music for a reasonable price. The only complaint is that downstairs the seating is on one level. If you're short and the folks in front of you are 6ft tall 5ft wide it's difficult to see the act. Otherwise it's a great venue for all varieties of music and other events.
